Brown bamboo (scientific name: Rhapis excelsa (Thunb.) Henry ex Rehd.） Also known as Guanyin bamboo, tendon head bamboo, palm bamboo and dwarf brown bamboo, it is an evergreen foliage plant of brown bamboo in palm family. There are leaf nodes, wrapped with leaf sheaths with brown reticular fibers. Tufted shrub, 2-3m high, with upright cylindrical stems, nodes, 1.5-3cm in diameter. The stems are as thin as fingers, unbranched, with leaf nodes. The upper part is covered with leaf sheaths, but decomposed into slightly loose horsetail like light black rough and hard reticular fibers.
 
Brown bamboo is a typical indoor foliage plant. Because it is resistant to shade, humidity and scattered light, it can be placed in bright indoor light for a long time. Even if there is no sunshine in the dark for 3 consecutive months, it can grow normally and maintain its dark green leaf color. Brown bamboo clumps tall and straight, luxuriant branches and leaves, natural and unrestrained posture, beautiful leaf shape, green in four seasons, like bamboo but not bamboo, beautiful and elegant, rich in tropical scenery. It is the most widely cultivated indoor foliage plant in the family. The mouth cluster in the south is planted under the big trees or beside the rockery in the courtyard, forming a natural landscape of tropical mountain forest. Potted plants can be planted in northern areas, and large jungles can be placed on both sides of conference rooms and hotel doors, which is quite elegant. If the living room of the home is placed with shallow brown bamboo bonsai with staggered height and dense coordination, and a few rocks next to it, it will be more exquisite and beautiful.
