Loss from operations included a provision of approximately HK$108.5
million made for a property under development to reflect its net
realisable value.
(2) Loss per share
The calculation of basic loss per share is based on the net loss
attributable to shareholders for the period of HK$132,070,000 (1999:
HK$15,355,000) and the weighted average of 689,005,070 (1999: 690,712,993)
ordinary shares in issue during the period.
The diluted loss per share is not shown for both periods because the
effect of any dilution is antidilutive.
(3) Adjustment of the last corresponding results
To conform with current period presentation, interest income for 1999 has
been reclassified from turnover to other revenue and finance costs for
1999 has been added back to profit from operations and seperately shown.
